Accounting Software Library - Standard Edition Software
Product Description
Welcome to the world of The Accounting Library. Put quite simply, this powerful computer program and accompanying two volume, 500+ page, set of manuals has been designed to assist companies:
- define their accounting software requirements in as much detail as appropriate,
- compare those needs against the best products on the market,
- rank each product according to how close it matches the user's requirements,
- select the best-suited product,
- install and implement that product effectively and finally
- reorganize and reenergize their accounting and business management processes.
Rather than spending countless hours creating a basic needs definition from scratch, trying to determine which products might be appropriate candidates, and trying to determine which products seem to meet their needs, The Accounting Library gives users a proven methodology and database by which all of this can be accomplished far more rapidly and accurately than possible using any other approach. The Accounting Library has helped thousands of companies select software since 1989, either directly or through the nearly 1,000 resellers and consultants who are our subscribers.
The Accounting Library can be purchased in one of three different configurations (Standard Edition, Enterprise Edition and Modifiable Edition). The Standard Edition contains a database of 115+ products ranging from entry-level systems such as QuickBooks Pro and Peachtree up to products such as Epicor, Great Plains Edition, Navision, MAS 500, Solomon IV, and Infinity POWER Advanced Accounting. We asked each vendor 2,500+ questions covering all of the core financial and distribution applications (including assembly and light manufacturing).
The Standard Edition has been designed to serve the needs of small to mid-sized businesses whose needs are fairly straight forward. That's why there are only 2,500 questions and 115 products rather than the 4,000 questions and 150 products found in the Enterprise and Modifiable Editions.
If you are not sure which product best suits your requirements, we suggest that you start with the Standard Edition. However if you need detailed questions concerning manufacturing or multi-currency accounting, those questions are contained only in the Enterprise or Modifiable Editions. In order to assist our subscribers who are on the bubble between the Standard Edition and the two higher-end products, the Standard Edition CD contains the questionnaire (in Word format or an Excel spreadsheet) for the Enterprise Edition so that you can see the difference between the two.
The analysis program is no more than a tool to help you define your requirements, and determine which products you should examine in more depth. It should not be used to make a final purchase decision. Only you can make that final purchase decision. The program has been designed to assist you define your requirements by listing many features, functions and reports found in the leading products. Many companies, particularly smaller organizations, have found that the features list actually helps them define what they need by presenting both specific features and processing methodologies they may not have considered prior to purchasing The Accounting Library.
The program itself is only as accurate as your needs definition. If you don't take the time to define an accurate representation of your requirements, or select requirements just because they are available, or don't analyze each finalist in sufficient depth to confirm its applicability, the analysis will be flawed, perhaps fatally flawed. Use the program to help you define your needs and narrow your field of focus, but use it wisely. You are the only person who has an intimate knowledge of your organization sufficient to determine which product is best-suited.
Costing a mere $395, the Standard Edition will dramatically reduce the pain, frustration and time it takes to select a new accounting system. It really is that simple.
