Product / Vendor List
This page lists all of the products and vendors in The Accounting Library. Since there are three different editions of our software selection tool and some products have not yet been added to the database, we have created a table below which highlights all of this information.
A green ball indicates a product is already in the database.
A red ball indicates that we are working with the vendor to add the product to the database.
Although we support three different versions (Standard, Enterprise and Modifiable), we have shown but two columns (Standard and Enterprise). The reason for this is quite simple. The database for the Enterprise and Modifiable Editions are exactly the same. The only difference between the two products is the fact that you can change the questions in the Modifiable Edition.
In very general terms, the Standard Edition contains products ranging from entry-level systems up to what might be called mid-range client/server solutions. The Enterprise and Modifiable Editions contain all products simply because many of our consulting subscribers work with clients whose needs span the entire range of price and complexity.
Even though we might include many more products than you could possibly evaluate, you do not necessarily have to analyze all products. You can define a Vendor Group containing only those products in which you have an interest. Which product you place in this group is controlled exclusively by you. Many users find it easier to run the analysis using only their most important to critical requirements. Then they begin to add requirements of lesser importance and at the same time create a Vendor Group containing only those products which passed through the first phase.
There are four ways to determine which product (Standard Edition, Enterprise Edition, or Modifiable Edition) will serve you most effectively.
If you are only interested in mid-range or lower products and your needs are not that complex, you should purchase the Standard Edition.
If you are only interested in mid-range or lower products, but you would like to, or need to, base your needs definition upon our more comprehensive set of questions (4,000), but you do not need to define any additional requirements, you should purchase the Enterprise Edition.
If you are interested in one or more of the enterprise solutions such as One World, Oracle, etc., you should purchase either the Enterprise or Modifiable Edition.
If your requirements are sufficiently complex that you need to define additional questions unique to your organization, you should purchase the Modifiable Edition.
Please remember one very important point. The fact that a product is not in the database does not mean you should not consider purchasing The Accounting Library. We are more than happy to work with you and add products of specific interest to your organization or your clients. Actually there are three different ways products can be added to our database.
Standard Edition: If you purchase the Standard Edition, we will send a questionnaire to any vendor in whose product you have an interest. However, you will have to wait until the next scheduled update of the database (assuming of course the vendor responds within the timeframe) to receive that new information.
Enterprise Edition: If you purchase the Enterprise Edition, we will send you the new product file just as soon as we receive it from a vendor (allowing time for us to make sure the questions have been answered completely and accurately).
Modifiable Edition: If you purchase the Modifiable Edition, you can add vendors and products yourself without having to involve us in any way. Each subscriber will receive 10 copies of our Vendor Program containing all of the questions. All you have to do is add the vendor's name to the database and send them the Vendor Program. The vendor will answer the questionnaire and export their responses to disk or an e-mail file. You can then import that file into your copy of the analysis program and continue your analysis.
